Xavi Menós was born in 1981 in Sudanell, Spain. In 2003, he completed his B. A. in Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. He was the recipient of the prestigious La Caixa Fellowship which provided him with the opportunity to attend a graduate studies program. Xavi subsequently moved to New York City in August 2006 to pursue an M. A. in Media Studies at The New School. He is also working on his upcoming documentary "El Héroe", scheduled to be released next year. Currently, he is working at Nexus Management Group - Shakira in the digital content department where he manages Shakira's online presence on Shakira.com (9 million visits in a year), Facebook (5,5 mm fans), Twitter (2,4 mm followers), MySpace & Sonico. The videos he has created for shakira.com surpass the 10 million views on YouTube. In Summer 2010, he was responsible for the Waka Waka dance campaign in partnership with the NGO 1GOAL. He also collaborates with Shakira's foundations: Pies Descalzos, Barefoot and ALAS foundation in the creation of on-line content. Outside Shakira, Xavi is also responsible for the on-line presence of the fashion expert and tv-personality, Nina Garcia and the award wining writer, Elvira Lindo. His pictures have been published in major publications such as Rolling Stone, National Geographic, Vanidades, La Vanguardia, Qué Leer? & Hello.
