Xavi Menó’s Biography

Xavi Menós was born in 1981 in Sudanell, Spain. In 2003, he completed his B. A. in Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. He was the recipient of the prestigious La Caixa Fellowship which provided him with the opportunity to attend a graduate studies program. Xavi subsequently moved to New York City in August 2006 to pursue an M. A. in Media Studies at The New School.
Currently, Xavi Menós is working at Shakira’s digital department where he manages Shakira’s online presence on Shakira.com, Facebook (48 mm fans), Twitter (16 mm followers), MySpace, Sonico, Tuenti and Youtube. The videos he has created for shakira.com surpass the 60 million views on YouTube. In December 2011 Shakira released the DVD “Live From Paris” (Sony Music) where he was in charge of creating the behind the scenes videos and photos from Shakira’s Sale El Sol tour. In summer 2010, he was responsible for the Waka Waka dance campaign in partnership with the NGO 1GOAL. He also collaborates with Shakira’s foundations: Pies Descalzos - Barefoot Foundation in the creation of on-line content.
Xavi is also responsible for the on-line presence of the fashion expert and tv-personality, Nina Garcia and the award wining Spanish writer, Elvira Lindo.
His photos have been published in major publications such as Rolling Stone, Marie Claire US, US Weekly, Marie Claire Spain, National Geographic, Vanidades, La Vanguardia, Qué Leer? & Hello!, amongst others.
Prior jobs include Telemundo-NBC in NYC; Televisió de Catalunya, Localia TV & Cadena SER— all media companies based in Spain.
